Beach's goal is to provide the best experience possible. In order to provide worry-free navigating along with the freedom of choosing your own path through Europe, we issue BMW Navigator GPS units to riders and drivers for the duration of the tour. The units have been pre-programmed for that specific tour, with waypoints for the hotels, points of interest, gas and food, and other secrets of the road that the Beachs have collected over the years.
The most valuable information on the GPS is all the tour routes. There are generally three (or more!) choices for each day of riding, and even the free days! The routes are described in detail in the tour book, including the benefits of each route and things to see and do along the way.
The benefit of a GPS is not having to worry about watching for street signs or mile markers, or trying to read a German street sign while riding at speed and still keeping an eye on the wonderful scenery around you. It is another tool to lower your stress while on this trip, and worry about nothing but discovery.
If new technology does not come easy for you, don't worry. Our staff will make sure that before you throw a leg over, you are comfortable with your GPS. Your first tour dinner will include GPS training, and of course the guides will give personal lessons when necessary.
Before leaving on a Beach's adventure, every tour member will receive a list of our favorite maps covering that specific tour. We understand that some riders prefer the paper map, the ability to draw out one's own path, take notes, and keep it with the rest of your travel gear and keepsakes.
And paper maps are fun! In Europe, Beach's can provide you with a map pocket for your motorcycle, or you may bring your own tank bag. (Nothing that relies on magnets, BMW's tanks are polymer!) Being able to see the big picture available on a paper map can be invaluable in planning what attractions to see and locating interesting off-the-beaten-path roads.
